A wife is allegedly threatening to picket outside her brothel after her husband spent AU$6,000 (£3,100) on a seven-hour sex binge there, according to the business owner.

The man's demands are said to have left the workers "too tired" to go on. He had initially paid by cash to avoid a paper trail but eventually using bank transfers and then his credit card at the Pentagon Grand brothel on the Gold Coast, Australia, it is claimed.

Brothel owner Suzanne Pfeifer said the unnamed man paid via cash for the first hour but wanted more "fetish and fantasy" action and had to turn to his credit card when a bank transfer failed. She claims he told his furious wife he was "drunk and on drugs" at the time and had no recollection of anything inside the brothel.

However, Ms Pfeifer says he was coherent enough to negotiate a discount with one of her sex workers. She went on to claim the wife is planning to protest outside the establishment. She says she is fine with such activity, as long as it doesn't prevent customers going inside.

She has also encouraged the woman to go to the police if she believes her husband was the victim of any criminal activity. Speaking to the Gold Coast Bulletin, she said: "He's gone to great lengths to keep paying, plus he negotiated a discount for some of the fetishes and fantasies he ordered. Our girls are good negotiators, you would have to be very coherent to cut a deal."

"The only reason it ended when it did is because the girls were too tired and wanted to finish." Referring to the wife's complaints, she added: "This is not our problem. We are a legal business and this was a legitimate service with a legitimate charge. He knew what he was doing … he just got caught. If the woman is mad about the $6000, take it up with the husband – not us."
