Love Island star admits 'destroying' face with filler as she was left paralysed
Love Island star Faye Winter is on a mission to raise awareness about the dangers of Botox and lip fillers after ruining her own face with bad tweakments.
The 28-year-old reality star shot to fame on Love Island in 2021 – where she drew attention for her fiery romance with Teddy Soares. But it wasn’t just the blazing rows that had ITV2 viewers’ talking, as some cruel trolls would criticise the star for her looks.
Faye herself confessed while she was in the villa that she had undergone some bad Botox procedures, which she tried to laugh off at the time. But she has now opened up about her experience explaining that an untrained practitioner injected the substance too deep into her skin, causing her eyebrows to droop, while lip fillers plumped up her pout to an extreme degree.
Faye worries other cosmetic surgery fans could end up receiving bad treatments and be left with a face they did not ask for. She also thinks the industry is in need of regulation to ensure that health and safety is respected at all clinics and those administering the tweakments are fully qualified.

I just wanted to look a certain type of way. I would have gone to anyone who said they could offer me a procedure for a lesser price.

“Now that I’m older and wiser, I know better. But when I was younger, I ended up spending more money and having more procedures, to get my face corrected by a medically trained professional. I didn’t judge anyone for having work done if it makes them feel better, but people don’t realise how unregulated the industry is.”
Giving more details on her own horror experience, Faye said: “When my regular Botox nurse was on holiday, I went to someone who I mistakenly believed was medically qualified. He put the Botox in and within days my eyebrows had dropped into a frown position, and I had droopy eyelids. It completely paralysed my forehead, ruined my face and felt terrifying. When I went back for help, he said there was nothing he could do, I’d just have to wait for the feeling to come back.”
The incident couldn’t have come at a worst time, as this was just weeks before Faye had been due to enter the Love Island villa. She at first attempted to utilise tape to lift her face back into position, and recorded her Love Island audition tape with her face taped into position.
Faye thinks the Botox industry is in dire need of being regulated and says she is fearful the same thing that happened to her could happen to other cosmetic surgery fans. She flagged that Botox administrators do not currently need to have any legal qualification, and also warned that some places she has been to have shunned basic hygiene protocols – with some nurses failing to wear gloves while injecting away.
Faye claims there are high numbers of infections associated with botched Botox procedures, and warns others to be mindful of advertisements or promotions they see via social media, acknowledging that clinics will only show their best results and not the ones that have gone wrong. The reality star also admits she was horrified by her own face when she left the Love Island villa and saw footage of herself on screen.
The star attracted cruel criticism online, which she admitted hurt her. She realised that the lip filler she had made her lips look like “a baboons a**e” and she went to have the filler removed once she was out of the villa - however, this left her lips looking “deflated”. She says she has since had a small amount of filler put back in to plump up her saggy lips, but has no plans to add any more.
