I'm A Celebrity fans slam Jamie Lynn Spears' 'rude' response to Josie Gibson
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! fans were quick to react on Sunday night's launch show.
During the first episode of the 2023 series, the celebrities all met each other as they descended into the Australian jungle. And it wasn't long until Josie Gibson decided to acquaint herself with Jamie Lynn Spears, who is the younger sister of pop star royalty Britney Spears.
Jamie Lynn, 32, asked This Morning star Josie, 38, what she does to which Josie said: "I’m a TV presenter" with Jamie Lynn replying: "That's awesome!" Josie added: "I work on this show called This Morning. It’s so fun, it’s so good." However, when Josie explained her career, viewers spotted Jamie Lynn yawning and claimed it was "rude".
Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Josie trying her hardest to chat to Jamie Lynn and her giving her absolutely nothing but a yawn back a bit rude #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity", a different account put: "Jamie yawning whilst Josie is speaking.. she’s RUDE #ImACeleb", another fan said: "Jamie-Lynn yawning in Queen Josie’s face???? RUDE#ImACeleb" while a different account added: "Nah how rude is Jamie Lynn yawning in Josie’s face when she’s speaking about her life #ImACeleb!"
However, some viewers were quick to support Jamie Lynn, with one writing: "Everyone taking Jamie yawning so seriously they ain’t had no damn sleep jet lagged etc she wasn’t rude at all #IMACELEB!" It comes as Jamie Lynn has already proved to be a bit of a headache for I'm A Celebrity bosses after refusing to take part in media chats prior to entering the jungle.
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesWhile it is not required by their contract to speak to journalists ahead of starring on the ITV show, it is incredibly rare for a celebrity to not do so. A TV source told the Mirror: "It is disappointing Jamie Lynn wouldn't speak to journalists out in Australia. She kept her head down at Brisbane airport which is fair enough after a long flight, but it is highly unusual to not take part in the media chats whilst waiting to go into camp this week.
"In fact, it is almost unprecedented and even Boy George took part last year when he has rarely done interviews for a decade. The last contestant we can remember to refuse to do the pre show interviews was David Gest, and that was back in 2006. It is not a great sign if you are hoping Jamie Lynn is going to be hugely talkative on the show and give up lots of goss about Britney. Hopefully she finds her voice in camp."
Since it was announced that Jamie Lynn would be appearing on the show, Britney's fans have plotted to vote for her to take part in every Bushtucker Trial. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person wrote: "Are we all in agreement - every trial needs to be Jamie, let's make her life hell!!" Another agreed: "Me voting for Jamie Lynn for every trial."
