For many people, the Christmas season is a time for snuggling up on the sofa with plenty of chocolate, and there's one creamy new bar that may well take your fancy as you set about planning your all-important festive movie treats stash. Cadbury fans have been left thoroughly delighted to learn about a new chocolate bar set to hit shelves in late December, but the concept is certainly unexpected.

Landing just around Christmastime, this bar doesn't exactly feel as festive as other Yuletide treats chocolate lovers will no doubt be enjoying in the run-up to the big day. In fact, it's reminded many of a very different celebration.

Confectionary giant Cadbury is set to launch a brand new Creme Egg chocolate bar hailed as "perfect for sharing and self-treat occasions", and it will no doubt thrill those who usually associate the distinctive sweet fondant with Eastertime. Available nationwide from next month onward, this marks the very first time the widely loved Creme Egg has been made available in tablet format in the UK.

The 123g Creme Egg-filled Dairy Milk bars have been priced at £1.80, and follow the highly successful rollout of White Creme Egg in 2022, reported to be "the highest selling new product across the category". As per The Grocer, Cadbury Easter senior brand manager Charlotte Parkes. said: "We're excited to bring innovation to the category once more and continue to grow the brand's impact."

An exact launch date has yet to be officially announced, but excitement is already palpable amongst Cadbury shoppers. News of the intriguingly timed rollout was shared in the Snack News and Reviews Facebook group, where chocoholics were quick to declare the bar to be their "new obsession".

One person drooled: "I need this in my life", while another wholeheartedly agreed: "Love it. I would have this instead of an egg." Others however found the sight of such an iconic springtime treat at this chilly time of year a little jarring, and feel we should at least polish off our selection boxes first. A third person remarked: "We haven't even had Christmas yet", while a fourth argued: "It is a bit early to talk about Easter."
