Former glamour model Nicola McLean has lashed out at Big Brother to slam the current hosts and predict that Rylan Clark will be reinstated to host the forthcoming Celebrity version of the revived show.

The 42-year-old Page Three icon was a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother herself back in 2012 and again for an all-stars version in 2017 where she famously clashed with Kim Woodburn. Rylan, 35, won Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, weeks after flopping as a contestant on The X Factor, and went on to host both the civilian and celebrity versions of spin-off show Big Brother’s Bit On The Side from 2013 until the show was axed in 2018.

After ITV revived Big Brother this year, many reality show fans hoped that Rylan would return with it to host the show. However, 35-year-old bombshell AJ Odudu and 38-year-old Will Best were hired for the job instead - hosting both the main show and companion series Late and Live.

Now Nicola has lashed out at the presenting choices to argue that Rylan should return to present Celebrity Big Brother when it comes back in 2024. She thinks that the latest ITV series - which has been enjoying impressive viewing figures - would benefit with the inclusion of the veteran Big Brother star.

She told the Daily Star: “Yeah, I would not be surprised if Rylan comes back for the celebrity one as he is so much better. I think they're really missing Rylan. I know he really wanted to do it as well. So, I just think they've missed a trick.” She added: “I think that everything that he touches, people love, you know, even him and his mum on Gogglebox. So I'm just shocked he put himself well out there and they didn't choose him.”

Nicola went on to pan companion show Big Brother: Late and Live which is co-hosted by AJ and Will describing the spin-off as “disjointed”. She also blasted the show for inviting experts onto the panel that she thinks have clearly not even been watching the main series.

Nicola claims that the series would benefit by having former Big Brother housemates on the panel - although it is unclear if she is oblivious to the fact that many former housemates, including past winner Kate Lawler, 43, have in fact been on the show to share their expert opinions. Nicola's comments come as the series prepares to wrap up - and she noticeably has not featured on the panel chairs.

Only five housemates remain in the contest for the 2023 season - with 25-year-olds Henry Southan, Jordan Sangha and Yinrun Huang in the running to take the crown. They are joined by former Miss Universe star Noky Simbani, 26, professional dancer Olivia Young, 23, and qualified doctor Matty Simpson, 24.

Tuesday night saw 25-year-old Welshman Jenkins Edwards and 21-year-old mullet loving Tom Bryant booted from the house for a second time. They had been evicted earlier in the week alongside Jordan after being nominated by their housemates - only to then be led into a secret room where they could spy on the main house while the public decided which of the three nominated housemates to save.
