When it comes to changing careers, the grass is occasionally greener on the other side. This was absolutely the case when a former shop employee decided to leave a difficult public-facing workplace for the sanctuary of a ‘peaceful’ office environment.

KC post her hilarious reaction to her upgraded career shift on TikTok. Her entertaining video went viral and amassed over two million views. In her post, KC compares her previous “hell on earth” jobs with her current “chill a** cushy a** job,” highlighting the stark contrast in workplace environments. She describes how she reacts when her coworkers complain about having a bad day, she can't sympathize because she's been through so much worse.

“My coworkers will be like, ‘Oh my god that was the worst hour of my life, that was so hard, god I’m so stressed out,’” she said. KC is suspicious of her own understated reaction to her coworkers’ gripes when she said. “We were sitting in an air-conditioned room. I didn’t talk to a single customer, no one screamed at me. No one threw anything at me, no one spat at me.

I’m having a great time, nothing is wrong,” she said. Alarmingly calm about the hellish jobs she’s normalized in her past. “But now I can’t tell if I’m chronically chill and maybe there are genuinely things that are wrong at the job.

But I don’t know what they are because I’m so used to being in hell that anywhere else’s is just like this is great. I’m having a great time,” she said. One TikTok commenter agreed with KC’s sentiments: “I'm convinced so many people hate office jobs because they never worked customer service before.”

Another wrote: “Seriously it’s wild LOL like I used to get yelled at, cry in the walk-in, and then have to scrub a toilet.” One service worker survivor agreed: “Having an hour for lunch still feels so decadent. You mean I don’t have to negotiate for my breaks?” Another showed empathy and appreciation for all public-facing jobs: “Working in retail or food service should be a requirement, I am so serious.”
