A childhood gift Britney Spears gave to sister Jamie Lynn may have unwittingly helped her to prepare for the I'm A Celebrity jungle.

Actor Jamie Lynn, 32, heads into the show saying it is "out of her comfort zone" but that she is "excited" to meet new people. She is ten years younger than her singing sister and was doted on growing up.

And one present from Britney ended up helping her to fall in love with insects and frogs, which she could face again on the ITV show. In her 2022 autobiography, Things I Should Have Said, Jamie Lynn writes: "Britney became cross with me just a handful of times. She created a small child-sized playhouse in our backyard. The playhouse was a replica of a house with a kitchen and living area.

"As a kid, I was running wild - collecting frogs and insects. I started to collect my specimens, put them in the playhouse, and create my own animal farm. By the time Britney returned from a Summer stint in New York, I had just about destroyed the playhouse.

"She wasn't so happy with me then and used some choice words to tell me so. But Britney, who was prone to hold grudges with others, forgave me within days. Beyond the support and adoration, Britney was simply a terrific sister."

The sisters are no longer close though and it was noticeable that Jamie Lynn did not mention Britney in any of the promotional interviews for ITV this week. Britney may have referenced Jamie's jungle adventure on I'm A Celebrity when she posted a quote on social media, originally by Ernest Hemingway, which read: "All things truly wicked start from innocence." She didn't comment on what she was referring to but did add a pink heart.

Britney's sister looked back at their childhood last year, and hit out at her sister as Jamie Lynn wrote in 2022: "My sister's diatribe assigns blame outward without any self-reflection. I want to reiterate that my early childhood was good, despite the growing chaos in our home."

Jamie Lynn is due to join a whole host of other well-known faces in the I'm A Celeb jungle. She will come face to face with politician Nigel Farage, This Morning host Josie Gibson, EastEnders star Danielle Harold, First Date's Fred Sirieix, Made In Chelsea's Sam Thomson, YouTube's Nella Rose and more.

Talking about how Jamie might get on while in the jungle, a source said: "Jamie Lynn has got decades of history and bad blood with Britney to rake over and has laid out her feelings pretty clearly in her own book. It will be interesting to hear her spill the beans about her life and her family and the controversial conservatorship - and to find out whether the sisters really do get along now - or not."
