Javier Hernandez breaks silence on future following release from LA Galaxy
Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez has revealed he has plenty of options of where to play his football next, after the striker was released by LA Galaxy.
After a disappointing campaign the Galaxy announced a whole host of changes to their roster, and one of those was the exit of Hernandez. The Mexican international spent three years in Los Angeles, scoring 39 times and laying on seven assists in 83 matches.
At 35, the former Manchester United star is closer to the end of his playing days than the start, but he still has plans to continue his career despite his recent cut from the LA franchise.

Per Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), Hernandez said: "I’m evaluating projects in MLS, Europe, Mexico and also Saudi Arabia." The Mexican added: "I came back stronger, more resilient and eager to continue enjoying football. My knee is great."
As Hernandez alluded to, he suffered an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament in June during a 3-2 defeat to Real Salt Lake at America First Field. It turned out to be the Mexican's final game in Galaxy colours, having failed to feature across the end of the season.
Despite the setback it appears the striker has all but recovered from his knee issue, as he goes on the hunt for a new club. Prior to Galaxy's announcement, Hernandez himself had already confirmed his departure from the LA setup in an emotional post on Instagram.

Along with Hernandez, former Bayern Munich and Juventus winger Douglas Costa's departure was also announced after his contract expired. Jonathan Klinsmann, defenders Tony Alfaro, Calegari and Kelvin Leerdam, midfielder Uri Rosell were all released, after their 2024 contract option was denied, as too was Billy Sharp's.
The former Sheffield United star only arrived in the United States in August, signing with the Galaxy, following his departure from Bramall Lane on the back of their promotion to the Premier League. Sharp filled in the spot vacant left by the injured Hernandez, and proved to be more than able cover.
In 12 games Sharp found the net on six occasions, including a hat-trick against Minnesota United at the end of September. From that moment on though, the goals dried up for the former Premier League star, failing to in the final six games of the season, as the LA side finished second bottom of the Western Conference.
