Matthew Perry was living with his personal assistant Kenny Iwamasa in the lead up to his tragic death.

Now it has come to light that it was likely Kenny who discovered his body after initial reports suggesting it was his former assistant Briana Brancato. Kenny has reportedly helped to manage Matthew's affairs for 25 years and the pair were living together in a rented apartment for a year before they moved back to Matthew's $6 million dollar home in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood of LA.

Matthew, 54, was only back in the property after its renovations for a few weeks before his tragic death. His previous assistant Briana had left her role as his second personal assistant to become a personal trainer in the months prior to his death.

Kenny was described by Matthew's former landlord as “an individual living with Perry and monitoring him”, according to The Blast. Meanwhile, his LinkedIn profile describes him as a talent manager with Doug Chapin Management. He is also listed as working for Black Panther star Angela Bassett among several other clients.

Matthew and Kenny were staying in the $49k-a-month rental in Beverly Hills until work on his main home was completed. They had returned less than a month before he was found unresponsive in the hot tub.

The three-bedroom hillside rental property had a view overlooking Beverly Hills and the ocean. Landlord John Malakzad told the Daily Mail that Matthew was a "good tenant who moved out a couple of weeks ago."

Matthew is believed to have rented the property from June 2022. He and Kenny had regularly been photographed together when the assistant was seen driving him around Los Angeles.

In Matthew's final Instagram post, he posted a photo of himself in the hot tub overlooking the city lights. The caption read: "Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I'm Mattman."

His family confirmed his death with a statement: "We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.
