Amazon Prime Video is days away from launching a brand-new reality show inspired by the James Bond film franchise. In 007: Road to a Million, nine pairs of everyday people travel the globe in a series of Bond-inspired challenges, pushing their physical and mental prowess to the limit for a shot at a £1m prize.

The series is officially licensed by Eon Productions and long-time Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. It marks the first time the producers have allowed the Bond IP to be used in an unscripted show.

Brian Cox fronts the show as The Controller, the enigmatic on-screen mastermind behind the game. The Succession star channels Logan Roy into his very own Bond villain-esque character to dictate where the pairs go and what they must do.

In total, he has hidden 10 questions for each pair around the world in a host of locations familiar to Bond fans, with locales including the Scottish Highlands, Chile’s Atacama Desert, Jamaica, Venice and the Swiss Alps. To reach these questions, the pairs face gut-wrenching Bond-inspired challenges that see them scaling cliffs, climbing cranes and traversing the roof of a moving train.

Prime Video unveiled the official trailer for 007: Road to a Million in October, giving fans a glimpse at the horrifying heights and deadly depths that the contestants will face. There are also moments of respite amidst the chaos, with players seen suited and booted in a casino and driving Bond’s iconic Aston Martin DB5.
