Strictly star admits surprising connection to Big Brother contestant

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Eddie Kadi shocked viewers when he revealed that he knows Big Brother contestant Trish - off-screen.

The 40 year old comedian, who was eliminated from the BBC dancing show last month, appeared on the ITV Big Brother spin-off show, Big Brother Late & Live, when he dropped the huge bombshell. Host AJ Odudu welcomed Eddie on to the show along with Donna Preston and Jordan Stephens, to discuss the episode that had just aired. And it was at this point Eddie made the shock revelation. After being asked by AJ their thoughts on the housemates, Eddie spoke up and said that he had a lot of love for Trish and was supporting her all the way to the finish line.

He said: "First of all, let's make it clear: I'm team Trish. She's Congolese and I actually know her, I actually know Trish. Genuinely I do know Trish, we're in the same kind of circles in the Congolese community." But musician Jordan was left unconvinced by Eddie's secret connection and questioned him on how he knew her and the last time he had seen her. In response Eddie said: "The last time I saw was probably about a year ago, yeah. We're besties, yeah." Eddie then asked the singer: "Are you challenging me?"

Jordan, feeling awkward by the exchange, jokingly replied: "I'm just looking for specificities, don't hate me." But when AJ asked Eddie his thoughts on Trish's recent arguments, he smoothly deflected the question and went on to share his dislike of Nocky, who he branded as "manipulative." He added: "Let's focus on Nocky for a second. Nocky, Nocky, Nocky, beauty queen Nocky. Always pretending everything is roses but really she's manipulative, she's very sneaky."

Ahead of this week's elimination, all the housemates submitted their votes on who should be the next housemate to leave the reality TV show. And it was revealed that Dylan, Nocky, Paul and Trish will be the next housemates to face the public vote. Nocky received six nominations, Trish received five with Paul and Dylan both receiving four each.

Despite Eddie claiming that his exit from Strictly came at the right time, it seems not everyone shared the same sentiment. Following Amanda Abbington's shock exit from the BBC show due to personal reasons last month, former Strictly dancer Robin Windsor had called for Eddie's return.. Robin wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter last month: "Following a contestant's departure it would be great to see the latest eliminated couple return to the show - it’s only Monday so plenty of time to rehearse @bbcstrictly #eddieandkaren."

But his thoughts were not shared among some fans who felt that Eddie was axed "fair and square." One person commented: "No! Amanda left for medical reasons & Eddie was eliminated fair & square! S*** happens!", which prompted Robin to write: "Ok calm down - just making a suggestion." Another person said: "Don’t they allow for at least one couple to drop out? As has been mentioned maybe just have a week where no one goes or less couples in the final. If someone has been voted off I don’t think it’s fair to bring them back."
