It's no secret that a family trip to Disneyland can be super expensive. From entry tickets to hotels, transfers, and spending money, the cost quickly adds up - so it's important to really do your research before booking the big holiday.

Now a seasoned visitor has urged people to check their dates before spending their hard-earned cash, revealing that there is an annual date that Walt Disney World Resort hikes up the prices.

Sarah, who regularly shares tips and hacks about Disney theme parks on her TikTok channel , has revealed details of her latest booking, which will see her jetting to DisneyWorld next month.

Sarah and her partner will be spending ten nights at DisneyWorld in Florida, flying out of London Heathrow at the end of November. However, she has warned others to be aware of Thanksgiving - a major holiday in the US.

"It's through the Thanksgiving period in the States, which does play around with the prices a bit because it does get busier at DisneyWorld," Sarah explained, revealing that she has ended up paying £4,062.70 for her holiday including flights, on-site hotel and park tickets. "So this for a trip that is 10 nights," she told her followers. "It is heading out towards the end of November - it is in Thanksgiving week, which I did not realise when I booked it."

However, she did benefit from a special offer that was running at the time, which meant that she and her partner will be given a $200 (£164) Disney gift card and a $360 (£295) 'dining and merchandise' card so they can purchase food during the trip. It comes after one woman was shocked during her recent visit to Disney when she attempted to enter the park dressed as Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

She posted a video on TikTok under the username in which she said she was made to remove her blue face paint and drawn-on stitches before she was allowed inside, commenting: "So apparently they only allow you to wear makeup on select nights, so now I have to take all of this off because it's not one of their select nights."

And although the woman was shocked to hear about the rule, thousands of people took to the comments of her video to explain that it has been in place for several years. Disney does not allow people over the age of 12 to dress up in their theme parks unless there's a special event, because having adults dressed as Disney characters can make it hard for children to distinguish who the real Disney actors are. One person commented on the video: "This isn't new. This has always been a rule. Your makeup looks great, but Disney has always had this rule."
