James Haskell left fuming as Chloe Madeley 'shushes him' after blazing row
James Haskell was furious after wife Chloe Madeley had 'shushed' him at the dinner table. The drama unfolded while they were recording for their podcast at their home.
During scenes that aired on the ITV show Chloe Madeley Family Affair, which was filmed before their split, the rugby star, 38, was seen arguing with his wife after she complained of his 'annoying banter.' In the clip, the ex-couple sat down at their dining table to discuss what they had planned for their podcast. While James ate his breakfast, Chloe suggested he remain silent unless he had something useful to say. The comment left James fuming, leading him to storm out of the room.
Speaking to the camera, Chloe said: "If James is contributing anything of value, I wouldn't shush him but he's contributing s*** banter on a work call that isn't appropriate and he needs to pipe down and eat his breakfast." In another room, James angrily said: "She's just shushed me like a dog."
Before they filmed the podcast together, Chloe lost patience with James who hadn't prepared for the podcast. "You've done what you love to do, you've said 'Here's an idea that I really wanna do and I think it's going to be amazing' Now the day is here, you've done absolutely no prep for it," Chloe pointed out. "I was up until 11.30 last night in bed writing treatments for the show," she added.
The daughter of TV stars Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, Chloe and James married in 2018. However, the couple who share a daughter together, Bodhi, have recently announced their split.
Chloe Madeley returns to work weeks after giving birth as she 'needs the money'In a statement, Chloe said: “James and I mutually decided to separate at the end of September, 2023. We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time - certainly not while the television show was airing - but constant speculation about our marriage has, unfortunately, forced our hand.
"Beyond this statement, we will not be speaking about this matter publicly, and we would request privacy at this time. Our sole focus now is our beautiful daughter. We shall continue to co-parent with nothing but love.”
Breaking his silence on Instagram, James shared the same statement and added: "It's with a lot of sadness I write this post, but unfortunately, in the world we live in, it has to be done. My priority is my daughter’s and Chloe’s happiness and security. For that reason, I won't be commenting any further." Chloe then re-shared James' post onto her own account.
