Jennifer Aniston cried over her late co-star Matthew Perry in an interview back in 2004, which has been making its way around the internet following his tragic death.

Matthew was found unresponsive in his hot tub at his California home by his assistant on Saturday. The assistant called paramedics who pronounced the 54-year-old dead at the scene. Investigators said they believed there was no foul play and no drugs were found at the scene.

Now, an almost two decades old video clip has resurfaced online of Jennifer talking about Matthew's struggle with addiction in an interview with Diane Sawyer. Diane asked the actress what she thought each of her Friends co-stars needed to hear.

She said that the actor who played Chandler Bing would be "alright" before she started to cry. "We didn't know. We, you know, we weren't equipped, we weren't - to deal with it. You know, nobody had ever dealt with that and, you know, the idea of even losing him," she said between sobs.

Matthew kept his struggles with alcoholism and drug addiction a secret from the public the best he could, but opened up in recent years especially in his memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir, which came out in 2022. In 2016, he shared that because of his addiction, he didn't remember filming three seasons of Friends.
