Love Island star Laura Anderson revealed she "couldn't have done it" without her ex-partner Gary Lucy supporting her during the "traumatic" birth of their baby.

The reality star recently gave birth to their daughter Bonnie Rose Lucy Anderson. Gary already has four children from his marriage to Natasha Gray. The duo, who had a tough breakup, put their differences aside for their daughter as Laura shared snaps of Gary supporting her in the delivery room.

Several months ago, Gary said he wasn't sure he would be there during the delivery but later changed his mind. Laura praised the Hollyoaks actor for being very "hands-on" as she discussed her harrowing birth experience that ended up being "quite traumatic" due to a difficult induction and a post-partum haemorrhage.

"I don’t feel like I could have done it without Gary there. Genuinely. He was really hands-on and it was good to have him in my corner checking that things were going OK. Gary and my mum made a good team!" the TV personality explained. "I’m glad he was there because I always imagined the father of my baby being at the birth."

She continued to OK! : "It was 100% the right thing to do for Bonnie, for me and for him. It was important to set aside any emotional differences or any romantic issues between us because the only person that mattered was Bonnie." Laura said that although it was a traumatic experience, it "went perfectly" as Gary was there.

The couple recently reunited following a surprise break-up after Laura’s pregnancy was announced earlier this year. They were recently spotted walking hand in hand out of the hospital as Gary carried Bonnie safely in her car seat. Laura shared the news that she had given birth last month by sharing a montage of photos on her Instagram page along with a message - purporting to be from the baby girl.

The message said: “Hi everyone, my name is Bonnie Rose Lucy Anderson. I was born 02/09/23 at 06.03am and weighed 6.10lbs. My Mummy & Daddy are sooooo happy and in love with me, this is our first week together. I’m sorry it’s taken me some time to introduce myself, I hurt my mummy a little bit and scared my daddy too (oops) we’re all now recovering well at home.

“Please don’t question My Mummy and daddy on their relationship- This.. is all about me.” Laura and Gary first started dating in 2022 after meeting on Celebs Go Dating. They fell head over heels for each other but it didn't last long. While they excitedly announced they were set to become parents together in February, the couple also announced that they had made the decision to go their separate ways..
