Megan McKenna has hit back at trolls who criticised her for tucking into a huge takeaway.

The former TOWIE star, 31, told her followers she was going to "eat like a pig" as she shared a video of herself with a plate full of curry, rice, potatoes, popadoms, salad and chutney. Captioning the video in which no less than five takeaway boxes and four plastic pots of sauce could be seen balancing on her plate, she said: "I am going in with pilau rice, Bombay potatoes... banging. By the way this Indian is so amazing. On the phone, I rang them up and told them about my allergies and they went through every single ingredient."

Telling her fans her fiancé and Milwall FC footballer, Oliver Burke, had "been playing today", she continued "this is my excuse to eat like a pig". However, some fans were appalled by the amount of food Megan had on her plate. One responded to her video on Instagram, saying: "Change those giant plates… way too much, even for Ollie!"

But Megan quickly replied and said: "No, I love them." Another follower commented: "I’m honestly not being mean…the food looks brilliant but the portions are gigantic." While a third seemed irked by the fact Megan had put up a video on herself in the kitchen as they quipped: "Fed up of seeing all this now, you are not a chef," which prompted Megan to hit back and say: "Feel free to unfollow then as it isn't stopping."

Despite some of Megan's fans slamming the reality star for the takeaway, others leapt to her defence, with one sharing: "Oh my god the amount of people questioning how much she eats etc. Who cares if she eats a little or a lot. Maybe she just loves food and loves to try lots of different stuff so orders a lot. And when she cooks and makes massive portions and doesn’t get fat maybe it’s because she exercises and eats healthy through the day. Go her. Love her appetite and love her cooking skills."

Another agreed, saying: "I love the plates to and everything you make looks amazing." While a third mused: "People complain of she ate just a lettuce leaf and then complain when she eats a good portion. Can't bloody win. Not 1 person is the same, some have a fast metabolism and some don't. Good to see a woman enjoy her food."

Last month, Megan tried to enjoy her food, but ended up in a the freak accident while tucking into a Sunday dinner. Sharing a snap of herself with the side of her face and ear burnt, she said: "So before you freak - I’ve had a bit of an accident as you can see. On the weekend I was at my mum's and we were having dinner and she walked over with the gravy pot. Daisy (the dog) got underneath her feet, she tripped over Daisy, and grabbed the gravy pot but the gravy inside flopped out and landed on my head."

Thankfully, Megan's mum was on hand to 'drag her to the sink' and 'spray water' on her daughter, with Megan admitting: "If that hadn’t happened, I don’t know what it would have looked like. Thank god we were right near a sink and she knew what she was doing. It was a couple of hours of stress."
