Geordie Shore star Gaz Beadle has made the shock announcement that his marriage to wife Emma McVey is over - and they have been separated for weeks.

The 35-year-old reality star - who featured on MTV’s Geordie Shore from 2011 until 2017 - was married to 31-year-old model Emma in 2021. The couple swapped vows at a lavish wedding in front of friends and family - and their young children; son Chester born in January 2018 and daughter Primrose born in December 2019.

And while fans had been delighted to see former wild child Gaz tamed by Emma, they are now shocked and saddened to learn the still fresh marriage is already over. The news was casually shared when Gaz took to Instagram on Monday to interact with fans and sat through a Q&A session.

He set out his call for questions, writing: “Charging car having a coffee fire away” - with the window then open for followers to ask him any questions they liked. One curious fan sensitively asked: “It’s personal, but are you & Emma still together? You 4 are a lovely family to follow!”

Gary’s reply was nothing short of devastating as he revealed he and Emma had called it quits at the beginning of the month. He wrote in reply: “Hey no we actually separated about 3 weeks ago we are still friends there is no bad blood or anything and we have worked out the best way of doing it for the kids which for me and Emma is always gunna be the most important thing.”

He added: “We both deserve to be happy as well as being parents.” Some fans were less surprised by the news - their suspicions having been aroused by the fact the parents rarely posed together on social media.

One fan typed: “You are never in the same photos or post anything about each other anymore.” And another agreed, writing: “Ye I was thinking same and gutted I loved them both together.”

Just two years previously, Gary had flooded social media with messages declaring his love for Emma as they celebrated their wedding day. Sharing footage from his wedding, the TV star wrote online: “My heart is going ‘Thump, thump, thump, thump!’ I can feel it in my chest.”

While he gushed in his wedding day speech: “When I first met Emma – a lot of people don’t know this, because everyone just knows her as this mumsy Emma – I remember I met her. I was travelling a lot and then she was in Miami, she was in London, she was partying here and partying there. And I thought ‘How am I going to tame her?’

“And after a few dates I thought ‘I don’t know if I can.’ Only a few people in this room know that she’s probably, back in the day, a bigger party animal than me. Jokes aside, I think everything just kind of aligned at the right time. We both just, it’s safe to say partied in our 20s, but at the right time we met and after a few dates and stuff I kinda knew Emma was already The One.”
