Gary Beadle's wife Emma McVey has shared her gratitude to medical staff who have given her a "new life" following her heart surgery.

The former Geordie Shore star's wife Emma, 30, underwent an operation last month to fix three holes in her heart and to repair her tricuspid valve – which is the valve which sits between the heart's two right chambers.

Emma was diagnosed with three large holes in her heart in June 2021. And now, following an operation, Emma has given fans an update on her recovery process.

The mum-of-two posted a photo of herself on her Instagram page, which showed her sat in a hospital bed after her surgery and shared her gratitude towards the healthcare workers who helped her.

She penned in the post, which she shared to mark Heart Month: "I came into this month with a healthy heart, I’ll never be able to thank my surgeon, doctors, nurses and everyone else involved.

"I had 2 small holes, 1 large hole and my triscupid valve repaired. They’ve given me a new life to enjoy with my babies and really don’t get the credit they deserve," [sic] followed by a heart emoji.

Emma, who has Chester and Primrose with Gaz, then revealed how she has progressed since the operation as she said: "I’ve come so far since this photo 2 weeks ago, right after this was taken I was crying and throwing up all over myself unable to move, my brother and mum just swapping buckets under my chin.

"Day 2 I cried from the pain trying to take a deep breath in and cough, day 3 asking how I’ll ever be able to get myself out of bed.

"Here I am now, I left the house yesterday and watched the kids play outside on their bikes and I’ve never been happier

The reality star's wife was praised in the comment section as one said: "Wow you’re just superwoman mumma! So proud of you, I have no doubt you’ll be back in business before you know it. Sending you all the love in the world xxxx".
