Man Utd legend's Sancho prediction comes true after Ten Hag's transfer decision

Manchester United are prepared to part ways with Jadon Sancho just over two years since he joined in a high-profile, £73million move.

The Red Devils are ready to offload the winger as soon as the January transfer window given he is refusing to budge and apologise to manager Erik ten Hag. The pair suffered a falling out after Sancho took objection with comments from his boss regarding his effort in training, which led to the England international claiming he was a 'scapegoat' for other issues.

As revealed by Mirror Sport on September 26, a number of Sancho's United team-mates, including Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw, have all encouraged him to end his feud with Ten Hag. However, with Sancho seemingly unwilling to back down, the end of the road at Old Trafford now looks in sight.

Senior United figures are now making plans for the 23-year-old's departure in January's upcoming transfer window, with a number of clubs across the continent keen on Sancho's services. Few could have expected his time at United to underwhelm quite so desperately, but Red Devils legend Dwight Yorke hasn't been convinced for a while.

Speaking to Mirror Football on behalf of aceodds.com, Yorke claimed: "Yeah, it's one of a mystery, really. He had so much potential and hope for the likes of Manchester United. Huge investment, really did an amazing job when he was at Dortmund.

"Somehow the transition from there to Manchester hasn't really worked out in the way that we all thought it might for him. [He has] really struggled, whether it's from a mental point of view, which seems to be well documented. He hasn't really lived up to the price tag.

"So yeah, he's on borrowed time, I suppose, if you have to be fair in many respects. He hasn't really produced the goods that we expect him."

That borrowed time is seemingly all up and after 12 goals in 85 appearances, Sancho is now bound for the Old Trafford exit door. Last term, the wide-forward was granted permission to have almost three months off to deal with physical and mental issues, but made little impact on his return.

Collectively, United have endured a poor start to the season and have lost four of their opening eight Premier League games. It has become clear that more incomings are most likely required in January.

In turn, Sancho is almost certainly going to be viewed as an asset that can generate transfer funds by those at the top of the United hierarchy. Former side Borussia Dortmund are believed to be monitoring the situation, while Barcelona are also reportedly keen.
