Woman who died after car crashed into mobility scooter on Christmas Eve is named

A woman who died when a car collided with her mobility scooter on Christmas Eve has been named as Tanya El-Keria.

The 58-year-old died at the scene following the crash at around 11.50pm on December 24.

Paramedics and police rushed to the scene at Bedfont Road in Hounslow but were unable to save Tanya, whose family is receiving specialist support from officers.

The driver of the car involved in the incident stopped at the scene and has been assisting police with their investigation.

No arrests have been made so far as enquiries into the circumstances that led to the tragic collision are established.

My London reports that police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or was driving in the area at the time and caught the incident on dashcam or CCTV, to come forward.

Anybody with information is urged to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8543 5157 or via 101 quoting reference CAD 6753/24Dec.

Metropolitan Police said in a statement: "Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Hounslow.

"Police were called to Bedfont Road at about 23:50hrs on Saturday, 24 December following reports of a collision involving a car and a mobility scooter.

"Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and found a 58-year-old woman injured. Despite the efforts of paramedics, she died at the scene.

"The woman has been identified as Tanya El-Keria. Her family has been informed and a specialist officer has been deployed to support them."
