Police probing the murder of a Parkinson’s sufferer are reviewing CCTV footage of a man and a woman on a mobility scooter riding to a cashpoint.

Neil Shadwick, who was in his 60s, was found unresponsive in the car park of a Tesco Superstore shortly before 6am on Sunday.

He died in hospital hours later and his next of kin were informed.

Mr Shadwick’s mobility scooter, which he needed to get around in Stroud, Glos, was found dumped elsewhere in the town.

Police are questioning a 40-year-old woman on suspicion of murder and the robbery of his scooter.

Footage obtained by the Mirror shows a man driving a mobility scooter with an unidentified woman in the town at 2.20am.

The pair, squeezed on the single-seat vehicle, can be seen stopping outside a Tesco Express store in the Paganhill area.

The man walks from his scooter and appears to try to use the cashpoint as the woman waits.

However it does not appear that he withdraws any cash.

The duo then appear to have a conversation and drive off in the opposite direction.

Mr Shadwick was discovered hours later at the larger Tesco.

Police have appealed for information from anyone who saw a black mobility scooter being used between 2am and 4am on Sunday.

It is believed the footage has now been passed to police but they did not confirm this to the Mirror.

A neighbour of Mr Chadwick, who did not want to be named, said there was a crime problem in the area, adding: “There are girls who prey on vulnerable old men asking them if they want sex to fund their drugs habits.”

One local resident who knew Mr Shadwick – from the Paganhill area – said: “I would see him in Tesco. He was harmless and a bit immobile. People are quite shocked.”
