NFL star Travis Kelce has admitted he felt like he blacked out while making his surprise cameo on Saturday Night Live, and had to ask crew members afterwards if he had actually said anything during the 'Taylor Swift Mania' skit.

The pair all but confirmed rumours they were dating when they were spotted in New York City attending the recording of the hit sketch show hosted by Pete Davidson. During a rare weekend off in the NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs player participated in a skit making fun of ‘Swift mania’, which has taken over the league since she first appeared at a Chiefs game on September 24.

During an episode of his “New Heights” podcast with bother Jason, the 34-year-old said he didn’t even know he was going to be a part of the show until they showed up and asked him. “I don't even remember what I said, I blacked out,” Kelce said. “As soon as it cued to me the whole place erupted, which was very overwhelming, and I'm not even sure if I said anything. I walked off and said 'Did I say anything?' And everyone was like 'yeah, you killed it'.

"I watched it back and I still don't know if I said what I was supposed to. I didn't know what skits were coming up, I think it was just ironic they were doing a skit on 'Swift Mania', but I thought it was hilarious. When they asked me to be a part of it I said I'd be honoured. Taylor then made her cameo introducing her friend Ice Spice, who killed it."

This was not the tight end’s first time on Saturday Night Live. In March he hosted the show, a month after the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Being back on the show seven months later, Kelce as delighted to have the chance to meet Davidson, who had been an SNL cast member for eight seasons and hosted the show for the first when Kelce attended with Swift.

“I’ve always wanted to meet Pete Davidson, been a fan of his since he was actually on ‘SNL’”, the two-time Super Bowl winner added. “It was electric to be back at that place. There is just something about being back in that room and being their first episode of the season. It was such a freaking blast. It was a star-studded backroom… It was awesome.”

Both Kelce and Swift attended the Saturday Night Live afterparty where multiple sources said they enjoyed some intimate moments together. “They kissed throughout the evening,” one insider claimed, while another added: “They were holding hands throughout the night, whispering into each other’s ear, and they even exchanged some kisses.”

Kelce took “both [Swift’s] hands and put them on his shoulder” and took “both his hands and [grabbed] her waist.” Explaining more of the couple's movements throughout the night, a source told People Magazine: “They’re leaning in, they’re kissing each other. They’re whispering. They’re touching each other the whole time.”

Kelce was reportedly checking on Swift during their night out which further indicates their romance is blossoming. “They do seem in love. She seemed really excited around him and giddy and happy like a schoolgirl,” a source told Page Six.

“They were holding each other and talking and kissing, in the main spot where the waiters and people had to walk by. They didn’t care or move. They are in their own world.”
