Strictly's Neil Jones and Chyna Mills share sweet meaning behind newborn baby's name

Strictly Come Dancing star Neil Jones and his fiancée Chyna Mills shared the sweet meaning behind their newborn baby's name.

The professional dancer, 41, became a parent for the first time earlier this month when his Love Island fiancée Chyna gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Neil and the former reality star, 24, announced they had become engaged as they shared Chyna was pregnant in April this year.

Neil and Chyna announced the birth of their baby daughter on social media by sharing a photo of the baby's feet along with the caption: "Our hearts are so full." And now, the happy couple revealed they named their baby daughter Havana, after Cuba's capital city.

Explaining the reason behind it, Neil said: "Cuba is the home of dance and very multicultural so it was perfect; it sums us up." He also shared his wishes for her daughter and added to Hello! Magazine: "It would be amazing if she wants to be a dancer, but she can be whatever she wants to be. Although, she has to be a Liverpool supporter – that's non-negotiable. She's got a little football kit already."

While appearing on Strictly Come Dancing last week, Neil admitted he "can't stop smiling" since welcoming Havan into the world and becoming a first-time dad. Presenter Claudia Winkleman kicked off the sweet exchange telling the audience: "Can we just say a massive congratulations to Neil and your partner Chyna you have had a brand new baby girl!"

The duo shared the meaning behind their baby's name

Beaming, Neil replied: "I can't stop smiling, it’s the best feeling in the world…Better than a 10 from Craig!" Claudia's co-host Tess Daly added: "Congrats Neil, we are sending you all of our love." A couple of days before the couple welcomed their baby, Neil revealed his excitement over her arrival.

Speaking to the Mirror at the JustGiving Awards at the end of September, the Strictly star said: "I’m excited, we’re both like, ‘come on let it happen’ She’s at home at the moment on her little yoga ball bouncing around hoping she might come out soon. I honestly can’t wait."

Neil and Chyna were first romantically linked together in August of last year and later confirmed they were an item in as they took a romantic trip to Paris together and shared snaps from the French capital. In April this year, the happy couple revealed the news they were engaged and expecting their first child together - saying they were on "cloud nine" at the time.
