Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s kids ‘relieved’ news of separation exposed

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s children Jaden and Willow are reportedly “relieved” the bombshell news of their parents’ separation has finally been exposed.

The 52-year-old actress stunned Hollywood when she announced she and her Oscar-winning husband have been separated and “living totally separate lives” since 2016. Regarded as one of the strongest showbiz marriages, their fans were gobsmacked over Jada’s revelations, and the Girls Trip star did not hold back when discussing her relationship with Will.

“We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us,” she explained, adding that they were “still figuring it out”. Jada admitted she wasn’t contemplating divorce, and that they were not addressing each other as husband and wife when Will assaulted Chris Rock on stage during the Oscars last year.

Their kids Jaden, 25, and Willow, 22, have allegedly been forced to keep news of their parents’ separation secret for years, and now Jada has gone public with the news, they are “relieved” they can stop pretending their mother and father have been together, as they’ve been “extremely agitated” over the deceit. A source told MailOnline Jaden and Willo, who have carved out Hollywood careers of their own, were “uncomfortable” when quizzed about their parents’, as they felt they were keeping “grudges and secrets”.

“Although Jaden and Willow love their mom to no end and take on many of her behaviors and traits, they are very relieved the news is finally out there so everyone can just get on with it, no one is getting any younger,” the insider explained. “Jaden and Willow hope that everyone can now heal and remove any drama that still might be in their worlds now that all the revelations have come out.”

Willow and Jada have always enjoyed a close relationship, and the mother-daughter duo also co-hosted the hugely successful online series Red Table Talk, with The Nutty Professor star’s own mother Adrienne also appearing. However, the insider claimed Willow is “angry” with her mother for forcing her to “pretend that everything was perfectly fine when they knew it was not.”

The couple’s relationship has been under scrutiny in recent years, and in 2018, Will revealed he and Jada didn’t refer to themselves as “married”, but instead called each other “life partners”. He also hinted at their unconventional marriage by stating that Jada could do nothing “that would break our relationship”.

Two years later, rapper August Alsina claimed to have had a secret relationship with Jada, and while she initially denied it, she later confessed to being romantically linked to August while temporarily separated from Will. “From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August...Yes, it was a relationship absolutely,” she said during a candid interview with Will on her Red Table Talk show.
