Meghan Markle shocked fans as she revealed that her real legal name is Rachel, the same as her character on Suits, in an unearthed clip.

In a resurfaced TikTok, a reporter accidentally called the Duchess of Sussex "Rachel" as per her famous role as Rachel Zane on the hit legal drama, to which Meghan surprisingly shared it's her real name. She told the interviewer: "My first name in real life is Rachel. I've never been called it but my parents named me Rachel Meghan Markle and it's just confused every legal document for my entire life." To which the reporter replied: "And now of course with the show it's even more confusing."

Meghan smiled and sweetly replied: "Yes exactly. So you actually called me my chosen name." The reported then said: "I didn't know that!" To which Meghan jokingly turned directly to the camera and said: "You did. She's onto something this one."

The surprising fact comes as new reports claim that a spin-off of Suits is in development following the series' revived success on Netflix. The nine-season long series recently landed on the streaming service's top 10 shows despite the finale of the show airing in 2019. The popular series recently became the first TV show to attract an astounding 3 billion minutes viewed for seven weeks straight on the platform.

The drama, set in New York City, followed a lawyer named Mike, played by Patrick J Adams, who landed his dream job despite never completing law school. Meghan also played an attorney on the show, starring as Rachel who falls in love with Mike. The former actress was a regular character on the show for seven seasons before quitting the series in 2018 ahead of her royal wedding to Prince Harry.

But now Deadline reports that the creator of the original series, Aaron Korsh, is now working on a reboot for NBC Universal. Insiders described the new show as still being set in the same "universe" as Suits but will feature new characters in a new location. It has also been rumoured that the new show will take place across the country in Los Angeles rather than NYC.

Although it hasn't been announced if Meghan will be making an appearance in the new series, there are rumours that she will be making a return to acting. This week there has been speculation that the Duchess of Sussex will be making a surprise cameo role in the hit reality television series The Kardashians as she has been seen growing closer to the famous family.
