Manchester United fans were left in awe of new signing Rasmus Hojlund after he produced a brilliant piece of skill while training with Denmark.

Hojlund made a £72million move to United over the summer from Serie A side Atalanta. And after missing the start of the season with a back injury, he has netted three goals in eight appearances across all competitions so far.

The 20-year-old has joined up with Denmark during the international break for Euro 2024 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and San Marino. Denmark currently sit second in Group H with 13 points from their six games, with Hojlund having scored six goals in qualifying.

And a clip of Hojlund in training suggests he is ready to continue his good form on the international stage. In a video shared on social media by Denmark, the striker can be seen receiving the ball with his back to goal and Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard tightly marking him.

However, Hojlund is able to use his strength to keep Norgaard from getting the ball before scoring with an audacious back-heel that beats the goalkeeper. Fans were impressed by the piece of skill, with one responding: "You can't stop the machine once he's in front of goal".

"THE DANISH PRINCE OF MANCHESTER," wrote another. While a third added: "Forget his finishing, his hold up play is top notch." A fourth commented: "I can't wait to see these skills in matches."

Hojlund was also asked about the form of United teammate Marcus Rashford while on international duty, with the forward so far struggling to live up to his prolific goalscoring campaign last season. Rashford has found the back of the net just once this season, having netted 30 goals in 56 games last term.

However, Hojlund has defended Rashford, telling Danish newspaper Tipsbladet : "I really like playing with him. He is a world class football player. I enjoy playing with a player like him. He's a player I've looked up to, even though he's only a few years older than me.

"He has done well since he came in as a 19-year-old and scored against Midtjylland. I think he has been a great player ever since, and it is of course great that we are team-mates today." Ten Hag has also defended the England international, insisting his poor form "will pass".

"Everyone knows the qualities of him," Ten Hag said earlier this month. "But if the team is doing the right things, putting him in the right places and we've seen him coming in the right positions, but he's struggling, it will pass. Everyone at Manchester United backs him."
