Prime Big Deal Days PS5 bundle deals sees the console and big games reduced
It's day two of Prime Big Deal Days and the amount of PS5 deals that have been popping up is making sense now that we know Sony is preparing for the new PS5 Slim.
Usually, we wouldn't expect to see major discounts on consoles just a few years after launch, but Prime Big Deal Days has been packed with some great PS5 deals on both the standalone console as well as bundles. We've already seen EA FC 24 and Star Wars: Jedi Survivor thrown in with the Prime Big Deal Days PS5 deals so we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for more PS5 deals on bundles over the course of the rest of the day.
The reason why we're seeing Sony discount its console – compared to the Xbox Series X|S which have both yet to have that big of a price cut in the Prime Big Deal Days Xbox deals – has finally been revealed. The new PS5 Slim has just been officially announced, and Sony has confirmed that once the current inventory of the existing PS5 models is gone, it's not being replaced. So, as we predicted, the PlayStation Summer Sale, which saw the PS5 price drop to all-time low, was a push to clear out remaining inventory ahead of the new PS5 Slim release.
With that in mind, we'll no doubt see more PS5 deals when Black Friday rolls around; the new PS5 slim release is set for November and Black Friday is the last retail sales event of the year – and probably the biggest outside of Amazon Prime Day – so expect to PS5 deals galore as we head towards Christmas.
