Elle Edwards' sister has paid a second tribute to her sibling in an emotional Instagram post after she was shot dead on Christmas Eve.

The 26-year-old beautician died after she was hit by a stray bullet at the Lighthouse Inn, in Wallasey, Merseyside, shortly before midnight on December 24.

In a heartbreaking New Year's Day Instagram post, Lucy Edwards wrote: "I miss you so much sis. Elle May…you are and will always be my best friend, side kick, partner in crime, soul mate and big sister.

"You are beautiful inside and out, you are the kindest person ever and you wanted nothing but the best for me.

"I miss everything about you, especially our daily catch ups, our long drives, we’d blast the music and sing so loud that people in traffic would be laughing at us, but we were always in our own bubble and we didn’t care, and I will miss travelling and seeing new places with you.

"I should not be waking up this morning on New Year’s Day without you, we should be dancing and singing this morning whilst we got ready to go out.

"We always said 2019 was our best year, but we were so convinced 2023 was going to be the year to top it…

"You are supposed to be finally living the life you have dreamed of, you had so many plans, hopes and dreams, we had so many plans and it breaks my heart that it has all been taken away because no one else deserved it all more than my Elle.

"I will cherish all of the amazing memories we have made, you will always be with me and I will make you proud! I love you so so much Ell, fly high bbyy".

Lucy had flown home from Dubai to spend Christmas with her family and had left the pub before the incident took place.

On December 27 she said on Instagram: "My beautiful sister, my bestest friend, my second mummy and my rock. I love and miss you so, so much already. My Elle May."

On New Year's Eve Elle's mum Gaynor joined hundreds of mourners at a church just yards from the spot where her daughter was gunned down.

She was joined by other family members, as they lit candles in her memory at the Catholic Church of the Holy Apostles and Martyrs in Wallasey, Merseyside.

One mourner said: “This shooting has touched everyone.

“The Lighthouse Inn is a popular pub, most people would have been in there at one time or another.

“It’s still so raw – it could have quite easily been any one of us or a loved one. I woke up on Christmas Day to texts from worried friends asking if I was OK.

“I didn’t know what had happened until I turned on the TV. When is this going to stop?”
