'From Liz Earle to Arkive, Fenty Beauty to Too Faced, Patchology to Grown Alchemist - there's something for every beauty lover in the Boots 24 Days of Premium Beauty Treats Christmas Advent Calendar'

Ho ho ho-w is time flying by so quick? It just seemed like only yesterday we were celebrating the start of summer, panic ordering fans and sweating in the city. But now? There’s just 84 days until Christmas, and with it, those all important beauty advent calendars that are coming in thick and fast. The latest one to get our Beauty Editor excited is from none other than high street favourite Boots - with the launch of their 25 Days of Premium Beauty Advent Calendar, which is out now, and available to buy both online and in selected stores.

“Having seen and touched a few of the beauty advent calendar offerings this year, I have to say that this one from Boots could really rival that from LookFantastic, Cult Beauty and even Sephora. Priced at just £99, but containing over £450 worth of skincare, haircare and body care - it literally contains everything to see you through the party season - minus any awful eyeshadow palettes with outrageous colours.

“For those of us who are mad about skincare - you’ll find items from Liz Earle, The Inkey List, Shiseido, Drunk Elephant and BYOMA, to name a few. As for hair? Well you’ll find minis of celebrity hairdresser Adam Reed’s brand, Arkive, along with Grown Alchemist. As for beauty? Well you’ll find a full-sized Too Faced ‘Better Than Sex’ mascara and even a Huda Beauty Matte Liquid Lipstick! And like I said, there are no dodgy or ‘meh’ products in sight!

“As for my top five products from the calendar? Well this was actually quite hard to pick from, with some many of my favourite brands included. But I guess I have to start with BYOMA’s Clarifying Serum. Containing a Tri-Ceramide Complex, including Blue Tansy, PHA and Zinc, this little powerhouse is great for targeting imperfections, and unclogging pores - without disrupting the skin barrier.

“In at number two is of course the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. There’s a reason Alix Earle loves this mascara - because it literally makes your lashes look ridiculously long! Want dramatic volume? Done. Want longer lashes? Done. Want that ‘false lash’ effect? Done. And even lashes that look more curly? Yeah, it does that too.

“For number three, I actually went with Drunk Elephant’s Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser. I haven’t really tried many of the Drunk Elephant products, but after seeing the reviews, with shoppers calling it ‘great’, ‘holy grail’, ‘amazing’ and how much they ‘loved’ it - it’s one that I knew I needed to take on my next overnight trip away - or just to my parents over Christmas.

“My fourth product is of course RiRi’s Fenty Beauty Pro Kiss’R Luscious Lip Balm in Hint Hint. Unlike the million and one other lip balms I posses, this one actually has a ‘doe-foot’ applicator - making it mess-free and so easy to pop on your lips, on the go. Not to mention the scent is utterly divine, and the formula doesn’t feel sticky or greasy.

“And of course, in at number five (and technically six) is of course Adam Reed’s Arkive All Day Extra Shampoo and Conditioner - that helps with volume and clarity too. What I love about these haircare products is the ultra lightweight formula will leave not only shine, but a bit of bounce too. If you have oily to combination type of scalp, then you will adore this product too. Not to mention the scent will literally make you feel like you’ve just stepped foot out of the salon.

“Overall, for £99, I would say that this calendar is perfect for the person who’s really into their skincare, makeup and beauty products - but doesn’t really know where to start, as it gives them a real taste as to what Boots has to offer - on big name brands, and ones that they might have not yet have heard of.”

Now of course, if you want to see what other options are out there, then you can find almost every beauty advent calendar on the market right now here - along with the ones that we think are top for 2023.
