A food vlogger unwrapped his McDonald's burger before claiming "someone has had a bite out of it" with a mouth-sized chunk missing.

Julian Seager, an actor and YouTuber, was left stunned after ordering a McDonald's burger for review only to find what appeared to be a bite missing. He had purchased a quarter pounder and fillet o'fish from his local McDonald's branch in Pool near Camborne for a video for his channel Hairy Foody Guy and had it delivered via the McDelivery service. Julian first polished off the fillet o'fish before opening the quarter pounder with extra onions, mustard and gherkins only to find the burger was missing a chunk. Julian accepts the missing bit could have fallen off but added that the piece missing is suspiciously bite-shaped.

Julian said: "I run a YouTube channel as a food reviewer and when I ordered a McDonald's delivery I was sent a burger that looked suspiciously like it had had a bite out of it. I contacted McDonald's customer service and they asked for picture proof so I sent them the pics. I support local Cornish businesses and still ate the burger as the channel is run with a sense of humour. I thought I had a sense of duty to report it, however. McDonald's took it seriously and are reviewing CCTV to see what happened.

"I didn't want to get any individuals in trouble and didn't realise they had CCTV watching their staff. It Is pretty grim if a staff member is biting burgers for a joke. Hopefully it's nothing untoward but it still shouldn't have been served up with a mouth-sized shape and piece missing that wasn't even in the box.

"The whole thing is on the video as I unwrapped it all in one take with no edits. I even showed my partner who was shocked but carried on with the review. I was still fair in the video and wouldn't want to punish the staff and franchise over the actions of one individual."

During the video, Julian unwraps and burger and says "someone's taken the p*ss out of me". He added: "Someone's had a bite out of it. Well, you've seen it here. There's a massive piece of my burger actually missing. Yeah alright, it could have fallen off but they could have included it with it so it doesn't look like a bite?"

"That looks well dodge (holding the burger to the camera), see where it's missing? That's not appetising really is it?" Julian then says "it's all fun here" and proceeds to eat and enjoy the burger. He concludes: "I don't think they bit it but it was not a circular burger was it? It's definitely mouth-shaped but the cheese covered it over. They still shouldn't have served it if not complete... it looked gross."

David Wynne, who owns and operates 13 restaurants across Plymouth and Cornwall, reports CornwallLive, said: "Food quality is of the utmost importance to us and we place great emphasis on quality control, following rigorous standards to avoid any imperfections. We would like to apologise to this customer for their experience and we understand they have contacted our customer services team and this issue has now been resolved." It is suspected that the 'bite' could be damage to the meat patty when removed from the grill.
