My Mum Your Dad's Roger 'manhandled' by female fans as he gives romance update

My Mum Your Dad star Roger Hawes has opened up about how much his life has drastically changed after appearing on the popular ITV programme.

Roger, 59, stole the hearts of the nation with his devastating story and his search for love after his beloved wife passed away in her sleep amid her cancer battle.

After losing his dear wife, Roger lost his love and lust for life, and so his daughter signed him up for the show in a bid for him to regain his happiness. Although he questioned whether it was too soon for him to look for love again, Roger quickly fell head over heels for Janey Smith, his new girlfriend.

Sharing an insight into their love life now after finding happiness with one another on the show, which was fronted by Davina McCall, Roger appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside Janey on Monday morning.

Chatting to hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, Roger explained that it has been quite difficult for him to come to terms with his newfound fame. Roger said that when he is out in big cities like London now, he is stopped every couple of minutes by fans who send him their well wishes.

However, sometimes, it can get a bit much as he revealed that he was 'manhandled' by a crowd of female fans on his journey down to London. "He was manhandled at Victoria station when we arrived in London," Janey joked.

Away from the fan attention, Roger shared an update on his new romance with Janey as he revealed that he is 'head over heels' for the bubbly mum and has 'fallen very hard' for her. On Saturday, Roger broke his social media silence to share a slew of snaps of himself and Janey enjoying one another's company after the show ended as he confirmed that they are 'still going strong'.

"It’s been hard to keep it a secret but the wait is finally over - me and the beautiful @janeybombshell are still going strong and have never been better since," he said. He also uploaded a sweet snap of the two beaming as they enjoyed each other's company on a sandy beach, showing the pair continuing their romance after the show. He added: "We couldn’t be happier together and it wouldn’t be possible without @itv."

Janey also confirmed the news on her own Instagram, writing: "What an amazing journey... Saturday mornings just got a whole lot better."
