Jermain Defoe's estranged wife slams 'lover' who was a guest at their wedding
Jermain Defoe's heartbroken ex wife has taken aim at the woman she accuses him of leaving her for months after their wedding, which the woman is said to have attended.
Donna Tierney says Alisha LeMay was a guest at their lavish ceremony last year and has had another pop saying she refused to take him back. The couple's marriage crumbled in the New Year after she claimed she knew he had an affair after 'discovering a romantic card' from another woman.
Former England forward Jermain – who married Donna in June last year but reportedly split up with her a matter of months later – had "publicly devalued and disrespected" his estranged wife "on so many levels", she said on social media. The 40-year-old is still devastated and has unleashed another Instagram attack.
Donna, 40, wrote this weekend: "She was the better option because I was never an option. Ladies, if you make yourself an option that’s all you’ll ever be." She then went on to hint that he tried to win her around by adding: "He didn’t have an option — I wouldn’t take him back!" Mirror Online have approached the footy pundit for comment.
It's not the first time she has had her say on their split. Writing online earlier this year, she explained: "My love for Jermain, our vows and our marriage was 100% real to both of us. I was a devoted wife, but it takes two people to make a marriage work, no less, no more, and his infidelity eventually broke our marriage."
Jermain Defoe sparks marriage split fear after spending Christmas away from wifeJermain tied the knot with Donna in a fairytale wedding in June last year, with photos from their special day giving a glimpse inside the event. The former footballer, 40, and the beauty therapist got married at the charming country house Cliveden House in Berkshire, with more than 300 guests in attendance.
Jermain and Donna – who got engaged in the summer of 2021 – enjoyed a three-day celebration of their union at the venue. Meanwhile, in December last year, rumours started circulating that the two split after they spent Christmas apart. The former West Ham and Tottenham player was in St Lucia while Donna stayed in Glasgow with her family. He was also pictured without his wedding ring in snaps on social media and Donna soon reverted to her maiden name Tierney across her own social media accounts.
The Sun reported earlier this year the local register officer has no record of Jermain and Donna getting married at Cliveden House in Berkshire, which it normally would. The pair's wedding in featured in OK! magazine and on the front cover, but a source says that the pair had their own snapper at the wedding, rather than one from the publication.
The source said: "It’s all a mystery. They didn’t let the mag have their reporter and photographer at the wedding at Cliveden House. Instead, they had their own photographer and sent them the pictures, and then subsequently gave an interview to a reporter."
