Slow Wi-Fi connection drives all of us crazy - but those weird delays may not the fault of the service provider at all. The real reason for pages not loading could be hidden in your home.

Everyday objects in the house might be blocking your broadband. Microwaves and even fish tanks are known to secretly impact the strength of your signal.

Getting closer to your router might be the easiest way to speed up your internet connection. Another simple trick is to close unnecessary background programs that could be hogging your bandwidth.

"You don’t have to put your computer actually next to your router to stream your favourite shows, but closer is better, reveals Avast. "Make sure there are no thick walls, especially concrete walls, between your router and your device. Not every router is alike — some have a strong signal strength, and others don’t."

But the most likely reason lies in your computer itself. Google Chrome may be so full of data that your browser can't function properly and pages can't load. "Clear out your browser’s cache and get rid of any files that might be interfering."

Here is a simple fix:

Start by launching Chrome and click the three dots in the top-right corner. Select More tools and then Clear browser data.

Make sure you check all the cache data such as Browsing history, Cookies and other site data, Cached images and files. Then click Clear data.

After cleaning your browser’s cache, you should address all the clutter that’s built up in your browser history.

That might make your life a whole lot easier and less stressful.
