A mum was stabbed to death after asking couple to stop doing drugs outside her apartment.

Shawna Weems was killed following a dispute on 1000 block of South Gilbert Street in Hemet - around 90 miles east of Los Angeles. Witnesses told how the incident had started with a shouting match, before the alleged attacker fled the scene in an RV. Shawna died at a hospital. Mrs Weems had reportedly asked a woman and a man to stop doing drugs outside her apartment.

The Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received several calls at 12.35am about a disturbance and police arrived to the scene to find mother-of-three Weems suffering from several stab wounds. Despite attempts to save her life at the scene, she died at a hospital.

A fundraising page said Weems was a mother, a wife, a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister and a friend who had her whole life ahead of her. It read: "In loving memory of Shawna Weems a mother, a wife, a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister and a friend.

"She lost her life due to a senseless homicide in Hemet one 9/18/23. She was a 28 year old mom and wife who had her whole life ahead of her. She left behind 3 beautiful children Adalyne, Juliette, and Khodi that will be reminded how much she loved and cared for them. Her children will now be forced to grow up without a mom. Her husband Cody Weems is trying to pick up the pieces however he can’t do it alone and he needs our help."

Shawna's husband told KABC he was devastated, adding: "She was my best friend, my rock, my soul, the mother to my children, just everything" - while her sister said she was a "beautiful ray of sunshine" adding: "Her kids were her ultimate pride and joy. Just seeing a mom so devoted to her the way my sister was, it was just so amazing and refreshing."

A 27-year-old woman was arrested for after allegedly fatally stabbing Weems of three who told her and a man doing drugs to move away from her apartment window where her children were sleeping. Autumn Goodwin, 27, was arrested on Friday in the death on Monday of Shawna Weems, 28. She was jailed on a homicide charge with bail set at $1 million.

Hemet Police said in a statement: "In the early morning of Friday, September 22, 2023, a search warrant was executed in the 600 block of Vista Del Monte, City of Hemet. During the warrant service, Investigators located 27-year old Autumn Goodwin, a Hemet resident. Goodwin was subsequently arrested for the Homicide that occurred in the 1000 block of South Gilbert. She is being held on 1 million dollars bail.
