Sophie Turner looks 'vulnerable and anxious' amid divorce from ex Joe Jonas
Sophie Turner was seen smiling while running errands with her three-year-old daughter Willa in New York City, but one expert believes she is trying to mask her "vulnerability".
The Game of Thrones actress, 27, is locked in a custody battle with her estranged husband Joe Jonas after he filed for divorce from the mother-of-two. Sophie then sued the singer for allegedly "wrongfully retaining" their children after he took them travelling on a holiday.
On Thursday, Sophie was seen wearing a casual outfit as she held her daughter's hand. They were accompanied by an unidentified female friend as they picked up some supplies from a CVS store.
Sophie wore an all-black ensemble, opting for a black T-shirt, a pair of matching joggers and a black baseball cap. She also wore a pair of white trainers and had a sweatshirt tied around her waist.

She told us: "Sophie is clearly trying to look strong and even upbeat here, perhaps for the sake of the small daughter she's walking with, but her body language shows several signs of pressure and maybe vulnerability. Her smile looks incongruent, more a performed gesture than a signal of any genuine inner happiness, and it soon becomes a biting of the lower lip, which can be a self-attack ritual if its done firmly or an anxiety gesture if not.
"Self-attacks are often small acts of nail or lip biting or even hair-pulling that can suggest inner feelings of anger that we can often direct onto ourselves if we can't act on them when we’re made angry by someone or something else." Judi also said Sophie seems to be trying to shield her young daughter.

Judi said: "The way Sophie's arms encircle her daughter, with one hand firmly locked onto the other wrist, suggests a desire to create a protective and loving maternal presence."
Sophie, whose divorce was announced earlier this month, is in the midst of suing her ex-husband and is asking the court to order their children back to their home in England. According to court documents, the "wrongful retention" of the children began on September 20.
Sophie is requesting the "immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained". She insists that the now separated family had previously intended to make England their "forever home" prior to the divorce.
However, a representative for Joe has instead claimed there is an order in place to prevent either parent from relocating the children. In a statement Joe's representative told The Mirror: "The Florida court has already entered an order that restricts both parents from relocating the children. Sophie was served with this order on September 6, 2023, more than two weeks ago."
