Megan McKenna shares painful-looking injuries on her face after freak accident
Reality TV star Megan McKenna has shown off a painful-looking injury from a freak accident at home.
The former TOWIE star had an unfortunate incident where she was scalded with hot gravy, leaving her with burns down one side of her face and across her ear. The star showed off her severe burns after she explained she didn't want fans to worry because she hadn't been posting on social media as often.
Megan is usually pretty vocal on her Instagram Stories and posts often to her grid, including sharing her recent engagement to footballer Oliver Burke and her singing career. Taking to her Instagram Stories, the singer showed off the extent of her injuries whilst explaining how the freak accident happened whilst enjoying a Sunday dinner.

She then showed her painful looking burn injury to her followers on Instagram (Instagram/meganmckenna)She told her followers: "So before you freak - I’ve had a bit of an accident as you can see. On the weekend I was at my mum's and we were having dinner and she walked over with the gravy pot. Daisy (the dog) got underneath her feet, she tripped over Daisy, and grabbed the gravy pot but the gravy inside flopped out and landed on my head."
She continued: "Honestly, you can’t even write it. It’s obviously caught the side of my face. It looks so much better now, it’s in the healing process, so it’s a little bit rank. It’s on my nose. I’ve got a huge blister behind my ear. My ear feels like it’s hanging off."

As she spoke she showed off the now healing burns down her face as well as a painful-looking yellow blister on the back of her ear. Megan then went on to explain how grateful she was to her mum for being on hand to help after the shock accident. She said: "After it happened, thankfully my mum knew what she was doing.

The star described her injury as feeling like her 'ear is hanging off' (Instagram/meganmckenna)"She dragged me over to the sink and she was just spraying me with water for half an hour and honestly, if that hadn’t happened, I don’t know what it would have looked like. Thank god we were right near a sink and she knew what she was doing. It was a couple of hours of stress."
Megan, who recently got engaged to beau Oliver Burke, is due to celebrate her birthday soon and knew that if she stayed off social media over her birthday or for too long then her followers might worry. She explained: "The reason I wanted to do a little video is because it is my birthday in a couple of days and I want to post and I haven’t posted and I didn’t want you messaging going ‘oh my god what’s happened’. Absolute nightmare, but I am on the mend and it’s all good. And I still love gravy."
