An unassuming property on the market for nearly £1million has horrified home hunters with its shocking reality.

The four bedroom mid-terraced house has been blasted by house hunters after being described by property agents as being in “exacting condition.” On the market for an eye watering £925 '000, the property in Tooting, South London, the unassuming outside doesn’t reveal the reality hidden behind closed doors.

The back garden is overgrown with weeds in between the patio tiles and in the borders, while the lounge and one of the bedrooms feature outdated décor and a work looking carpet. The kitchen is a mere 6ft 8ins by 9ft 3ins, with a chest freezer oddly blocking the door to a room downstairs.

The term “exacting condition” speaks for being a challenge and requiring hard work to restore it, with the property also dubbed as a “blank canvas.” House hunters blasted the listing, which is being sold by Dexter's estate agents.

“’Blank canvas’ because no-one will have any money left,” said Nick Stylianou on Twitter, while another user added that someone could "buy you two houses that size, each with about ten acres of land in Shropshire."

Social media users also questioned why someone would spend that amount of money to live in London. One person was shocked that the price got you “a 6ft kitchen AND you'd have to live in Tooting?" One added: “I like Tooting but I would not want to spend nearly a million to quid to live there.”

The full listing reads: “A rarely available four-bedroom freehold home in exacting condition throughout with an abundance of scope for further alterations and extensions, STPP, occupying a sought-after plot in Tooting Bec.

“The property benefits from a large south-facing garden and is being sold chain-free. Lucien Road is one of the most desirable roads in Tooting Bec with excellent proximity to the many shops, bars and restaurants Tooting and Balham town centres have to offer. The vast transport links of Tooting Bec Underground Station and green open spaces of Tooting Bec Common are also within walking distance.”
