A tiny city flat with a bed just inches away from the minuscule kitchen has gone on the market - and while the dimensions are small the price isn't, as it costs over £1,000 per month.

The pokey home in London comes with all the essentials, including a bed, kitchen and wardrobe, but don't go trying to rearrange them because they won't work in any other layout.

There's hardly any space in the flat and if everything wasn't laid out perfectly, it wouldn't fit, and you'll have to get used to smelling the oven while you sleep.

If that sounds alright, you could rent the flat in Golders Green, London, for a whopping £1,250 - but you'll probably have to pay extra to store your spare furniture somewhere.

Pictures supplied show everything crammed into the minuscule space, with a small kitchen consisting of just two cooking hobs and a sink with a microwave oven underneath it.

It is situated just inches away from the double bed which has a small dining table and single dining chair in place of a bedside table.

There is also a toilet and small shower in a separate room in the ground floor pad, in Golders Green, northwest London.

Thankfully, utility bills are included in the extortionate price however the new tenant will have to pay their own council tax.

The listing on OpenRent reads: "We are pleased to offer this fully furnished ground floor studio flat with direct access to communal garden in a desirable location in Golders Green NW11.

"Available from mid February for immediate occupation."

Meanwhile, a man who gave up living in a conventional house for a tiny eco-home in someone else's back garden claims he saves at least £600 a month with his new way of life.

Chris March, 40, has lived in tiny homes on and off for the past five years - and last year created his own miniature wooden house to fit in a back garden on the outskirts of the village of Riding Mill, Northumberland.

He says his only home expenses are £150 a month, which he pays to live on the plot, and his electricity bill, which is £80 a month, and allows him to leave his underfloor heating on for the entire day.

His water supply is free, thanks to the homeowners who he pays to live in their garden being on a standard rate.
