Katherine Ryan had a fun-filled afternoon as she was spotted for the first time since sexual assault allegations were made against Russell Brand.

The comedian, 40, beamed as she attended an event for the upcoming series of BBC Three's Ru Paul's Drag Race UK. Taking to her social media, she then shared updates as she attended the Drag Race event where she cheered on the latest contestants. Posing at the event, Katherine looked gorgeous as she beamed at the camera in a green, blue and black knee-length jacket, paired with black trousers and a silky blue top.

Katherine broke her cover for the first time since reports suggested she appeared to imply that Brand was a 'sexual predator' in a Louis Theroux documentary. She appeared alongside the My Booky Wook star, 48, on Comedy Central's Roast Battle in 2018 when Brand was a judge. The father-of-two, who has been accused of rape, sexual assaults and emotional abuse – which he vehemently denies – was only on the show for a season after Katherine allegedly roasted him on camera.

During the filming of the show – created by production company Fulwell 73 – Katherine is said to have made allegations against the Get Him to the Greek star, but her comments weren't included in the final edit. Ryan's confrontations allegedly revealed how comedians in the industry were openly talking about Brand's sexual and predatory behaviour. Brand was said to be 'absolutely furious' after being 'targeted' by Katherine on the show, a source told Deadline.

Katherine has previously shared she confronted an unnamed male comedian, who she dubbed a "sexual predator". The clip has resurfaced in the wake of Channel 4's Dispatches documentary, which was made in conjunction with The Times and The Sunday Times. Katherine made the claims during an interview with BBC documentary maker Louis Theroux in November 2022. Although she has never named the "unmentionable British personality" for legal reasons, The Duchess star claimed it was an "open secret" amongst people working in her industry.

She stressed that she was not a victim of sexual assault herself – saying it was "not my story to tell" – but believed accusations from sources she described as "very credible". The 40-year-old added that while she didn’t inform the person’s employers of their alleged behaviour, she told the man repeatedly "to his face" during filming for a TV show, but the clip was later cut from the recording. It is not clear who the celebrity is as Katherine did not disclose their identity, however, reports now claim it was about Brand.

Responding to allegations on Friday, Brand said: "I've received two extremely disturbing letters or a letter and an email. One from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid stuff like community festival should be stopped, that I shouldn't be able to attack mainstream media narratives on this channel. But amidst this litany of astonishing rather baroque attacks, often very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.

"These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies. And as I've written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous. Now, during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual. I was always transparent about that.

"Then almost too transparent, and I'm being transparent about it now as well. And to see that transparency metastasized into something criminal that I absolutely deny makes me question, is there another agenda at play?"
