Katherine Ryan has suggested that Katie Price is almost "a tragic Greek hero", with her further commenting that she believes the public are ultimately "rooting" for her.

The comedian, 39 - who was among the winners at the National Comedy Awards last month - shared her thoughts on the former glamour model, 44, in a recent interview.

She revealed that she has previously met Katie and said about the reality TV star: "I think she's really nice". She also recalled reading one of her books some years ago.

Katherine suggested she had first heard of Katie around 16 years ago. She said: "What first drew me to Jordan the character was when I came to this country in 2007."

The mother-of-three said that she went on to learn about Katie's "unapologetic" approach and said the now mother-of-five's story was unlined by being a "wonderful mother".

She said: "I learned about her life and her unapologetic way of doing what she wanted, but underlined by being this wonderful mother. I was just moved by her story."

Katherine - who has appeared on shows like Taskmaster and The Masked Singer - continued in the interview by saying that Katie is almost like a "tragic Greek hero".

Whilst discussing the I'm A Celebrity star, she told the outlet: "I see the way that her life has played out in the media since then and she is a tragic Greek hero, almost."

The comedian further commented: "She makes big mistakes and then she has big successes and her relationship with men and her body and her family and so on."
