The two fossilised aliens found presented in Mexican parliament are called out as fake by an expert.

Presenting the “alien” specimens during a hearing in congress, journalist Jamie Maussan said under oath that the bodies were not of our world. But fossil expert Mark Kemp has found some serious holes in the “ufologist’s” logic. The hearing was focused on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), formerly UFOs, with Maussan presenting the two figures, said to be over 1,00 years old, discovered in a Peruvian algae mine.

Maussan said: “These specimens are not part of our terrestrial evolution. These aren’t beings that were found after a UFO wreckage. They were found in diatom [algae] mines, and were later fossilised.” The journalist’s testimony was met with mass criticism by scientists as there was no peer-reviewed scientific evidence to support Maussan’s claims. UK fossil expert Mark Kemp argues that even at first glance there are multiple warning signs of a sham.

Kemp told the Metro: “Straight away I see a problem. For something to be classed as a fossil it has to be over 10,000 years old, [but they] are claiming these are only 1,000 years old. I see absolutely no bone structure. It’s only the hard parts of living things like bone and shells that are commonly preserved as fossils. Soft body tissue like skin is super rare but I’m not seeing any of that here.”

The Yorkshire fossil hunter said: “Don’t get me wrong I would love this to be true but in my opinion, this is just a very rough carving job from the local rock in the algae caves they mentioned. It would be interesting to know more about the geology of the caves and when the rock was formed – this would give us a better understanding of what life on Earth was about when these rocks were formed. Having 1,000-year-old fossils locked in time in much older rock is obviously a huge problem for the scientists in Mexico to explain.”

While the specimens have not yet been made available for external testing The UK’s leading UAP expert Nick Pope also expressed he was not convinced by the evidence presented. Pope said: “There’s an old saying in the intelligence analysis community that when you come across a bizarre claim like this, you fall back on the assessment “interesting, if true”. That’s where we are here.”

Writing on Twitter, Professor Brian Cox said: “It’s very unlikely that an intelligent species that evolved on another planet would look like us. Secondly, send a sample off to 23andme – let alone the university down the road – and they’ll tell you within 10 minutes.”

During the hearing, Mr Maussan said analysis of the specimens was undertaken by the Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM). However, one of the university’s researchers Professor Julieta Fierro said reports that UNAM supported Maussan’s discovery were false. Fierro said: “Maussan has done many things. He told me extraterrestrials do not talk to me like they talk to him because I don’t believe in them.”

The findings were also flagged by former US Navy pilot Lt Ryan Graves, who spoke at the congressional hearing in Mexico City. Lt Graves has regularly spoken about the danger of UAP to safety, and is now executive director of Americans for Safe Aerospace. In July, he gave tesitified under oath that UAP’s were as much as an ‘open secret’ among fighter pilots. He said: “After the US congressional UFO hearing, I accepted an invitation to testify before the Mexican Congress hoping to keep up the momentum of government interest in pilot experiences with UAP.

“Unfortunately, [Tuesday]’s demonstration was a huge step backwards for this issue. My testimony centered on sharing my experience and the UAP reports I hear from commercial and military aircrew through ASA’s witness programme. I will continue to raise awareness of UAP as an urgent matter of aerospace safety, national security, and science, but I am deeply disappointed by this unsubstantiated stunt.”

In 2017 Maussan analysed a mummy found in Peru near the Nazca Lines and reported the body to be of a three-fingered alien, but the theory was debunked and the corpse found to be a human child’s. The Nazca lines are a set of geoglyphs, or drawings, carved into the Nazca Desert, which some believe to be of alien origin.

The Mirror has approached UNAM for comment.
