Jake Paul explains his support for US Presidential candidate VIvek Ramaswamy

Jake Paul has detailed why he decided to put his backing behind US Presidential outsider Vivek Ramaswamy with a series of social media posts this week.

The social media superstar is one of boxing's highest earners, and is known to veer Republican in his politics given his dad's fondness for the party as a working class native of Ohio. He has been seen conversing with President Donald Trump on a number of occasions including a Facetime call after his 2021 win over Ben Askren and in a photo the pair took the same year.

And Paul has decided to take a keen interest in the campaign of Vivek Ramaswamy, who is attempting to bring young voters back to the Republican party. While Paul's official endorsement for the 2024 election is still up for grabs, with the boxer noting that he is keen to meet with both Trump and Democratic candidate Robert F Kennedy, he has detailed his respect for Ramaswamy's approach.

“I was saying to my mom that he’s really cool," Jake told his older brother Logan during an appearance on his podcast Impaulsive. "Over the past couple of days we have grown our relationship, I really like his way of thinking. If he doesn’t win this Presidential campaign, I know one day he will win another Presidential campaign.

“One thing that’s great about him that I also liked about [Donald] Trump is they’re not just saying what their donors want them to say. He’s not a politician by trade, he’s a businessman that’s a billionaire. He knows how to run a business and America is a business, that’s what people don’t f****ng realise."

Paul and Ramaswamy took part in a Tik Tok video where the Presidential candidate explained his reasoning for finally embracing the platform after years of resistance. And they were also seen practicing their boxing in one post on social media before Paul took to Instagram to explain more about his politics.

"I seem right wing but really I'm pretty neutral on policies and want the truth to be told," he wrote in one of a series of Instagram stories. "I just want the games to be put to the side and I want salesman politics to die. People think this s*** isn't important and it so is! Your vote matters... I'm the peoples champ and always will be. I got y'all.

"With all that said I like Vivek as a person and human truly. F*** Republican and Democrat. He's a good a** American who can seriously help us."
