Man Utd's last three players frozen out and what happened next as Sancho exiled

Jadon Sancho is the latest in a line of stars to have felt the wrath of their manager at Manchester United.

The former Borussia Dortmund winger currently finds himself in a very sticky situation at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag confirmed Sancho had been left out of the squad to face Arsenal after not meeting standards expected of him in training.

Sancho took to social media to dispute that claim. Things have worsened since then, with the winger refusing to apologise for his post, whilst he is now being forced to train away from the first team.

Sancho is not the first to have been banished by United over the past few years. Take a look at some of the more recent stars to have found themselves out in the cold....

Cristiano Ronaldo

A Red Devils’ icon, Cristiano Ronaldo ’s second spell at Old Trafford started promisingly with 24 goals in all competitions. However, things quickly fell apart with Erik ten Hag ’s arrival at the club.

The Portuguese forward was pictured storming down the tunnel after being substituted during a 2-0 win over Tottenham. That saw Ronaldo banned from training with the first team before he was eventually reintegrated.

It then got even worse as he tore into the Red Devils during an interview with Piers Morgan. That led to Ronaldo seeing the remainder of his contract with United being cancelled, which led to a £173m move to Saudi club Al-Nassr.

He has scored 20 goals in 24 appearances since then, with the success of his move convincing other top stars to follow him to the Gulf state.

Bastian Schweinsteiger

There is no doubt that Ronaldo is a habitual winner but the same could certainly be said of German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger. The Bayern Munich icon was signed by Louis van Gaal ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.

He had a tricky first season as he struggled to adapt to the pace of the Premier League. New manager Jose Mourinho then immediately sent Schweinsteiger to train with the under-23s the following campaign.

The midfielder made a brief return with a small clutch of appearances but was eventually jettisoned to MLS side Chicago Fire in March 2017. He spent three seasons in the US before deciding to hang up his boots.

Victor Valdes

An iconic figure in Barcelona history, the Spanish goalkeeper signed for Man United on a free transfer in 2015 to act as a back-up to compatriot David de Gea. He had to wait five months for his debut in a 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

He followed that up with a clean sheet against Hull on the final day of the 2014/15 season. They would prove to be his only appearances for the club after Van Gaal put him on the transfer list claiming Valdes had refused to play in a reserve game.

He wasn't given a squad number the following season and was in exile until January when he signed a loan deal with Standard Liege. Valdes returned to England to join Middlesbrough for a season before retiring.
