Aerosmith star Steven Tyler reportedly 'can't even speak' following an injury that left his vocal cords 'mangled.'

The rockstar damaged his vocal chords during a concert in long Island last weekend with the injury causing them to bleed and he was flown to Boston to see his ENT and have X-Rays taken to assess the damage, reports TMZ. The outlet also claim that the scans showed that Steven's vocal chords are "mangled."

Sources told them that while the injury happened fairly early on in the concert Steven carried on with the show delivering his whole set including the track Dream On that sees him hit an extreme high note during the ending of the song. The audience remained clueless about the damage as he pushed through the pain to give them the promised experience.

Now TMZ report that Steven has been left unable to speak and just 'squeaks' when he tries to talk. The frontman has reportedly also been told he cannot even attempt to sing for 30 days due to the damage meaning the Aerosmith tour has had to be postponed.

However, Steven does plan on making a comeback and has reportedly said he will continue to hit all the notes needed to perform his hitlist. A source told TMZ: "Steven's an animal. There's no stopping him."

Meanwhile, Aerosmith have already postponed their scheduled live dates in Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Raleigh, Washington, D.C. and Toronto, moving them to January and February 2024. An Instagram post from Steven clarified his health condition for fans as he explained the delay.

It read: “I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve. - Steven Tyler."

The post clarified: "All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds will be available for those unable to attend. Fans with questions regarding refunds are asked to reach out to their point of purchase." The tour was announced in May with a string of famous faces helping to tease it including Kelly Clarkson, Dolly Parton, and Eminem.

However, there was disappointment for some fans when it was revealed that founding member and drummer Joey Kramer would not be joining them on tour. A statement from the band explained: "While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of AEROSMITH, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health. Joey's unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed."
