Every member of *NSYNC appeared together for the first time in over ten years at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Host Nicki Minaj excitedly announced the first presenters of the night - Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, JC Chasez, and Chris Kirkpatrick. Fangirls everywhere were ecstatic to see the 90s boyband, as it was rumoured that they might all be appearing but no one wanted to get their hopes up.

One fangirl in particular was Taylor Swift, who stood up and threw her hands in the air as the band took the stage. She looked around and covered her mouth with her hands in excitement. Her night got even better as the band announced that she was the winner of the Best Pop Video award for the music video for her song Anti-Hero.

Taylor ran to the stage and hugged every member of the boyband. In return, each member gave her a friendship bracelet, a trend that was started by her fans on her Eras tour. Swifties, as they call themselves, make and trade friendship bracelets at her shows. and the trend has made its way to other musicians' tours.

The Love Story singer accepted the Moonman statue from Lance still in a shocked trance. "I'm not doing well pivoting to this to this," she said as she motioned towards the boyband and then to the award. "I had your dolls," she told the band in a star-struck tone.

Fans on Twitter seemed to be just as shaken up as Taylor. One said: "Someone sedate me." Another person tweeted: "I can't stop crying. I'm a f***ing mess. Holy s**t. I'm so overwhelmed." Other fans expressed how long they've been waiting for this, with one writing: "I have been waiting 22 years for an nsync reunion and I am not doing well." The last NSYNC album, Girlfriend, was released in 2001.

Taylor said what every fan was thinking, and asked the band about a possible reunion in her speech. "Are you doing something? What's happening now?" she said. Then the songstress turned to the audience and said: "They're gonna do something and I want to know what it is."

After their appearance, the band and its individual members posted a video on their social media accounts. The five-second video had no sound but showed the band in an elevator, possibly heading up to the stage to surprise everyone. This was the first time the band has been together since 2013, when Justin won MTV's Video Vanguard award. All of the members except for Justin last performed together in 2019 with Ariana Grande at Coachella.
