This Morning star Trinny Woodall has broken her silence on her split from husband of ten years, by admitting she "wasn't happy".

The fashion and makeover expert, 59, split from advertising tycoon Charles Saatchi, 80, after 10 years of marriage. Trinny, who is a regular on the ITV daytime show, has addressed the split 18 months after they parted ways. Reports of their separation started to swirl back in March where it was claimed the couple split after finding the age gap difficult. Trinny acknowledged the split for the first time in public in July.

She said at the time: "Life is good, I’m excited by the future." However, the TV stylist did "not want to delve into any very personal details". Now, Trinny has shared she feels "very good" to be single again, but the split was "difficult". "I have been in a relationship for ten years, and whatever people choose to believe or read, I know I have been in love with the person I was in a relationship with, and I had good years in that relationship.

"But I also know that I got to a stage where I knew I was not happy in it," she toldMailOnline. Trinny admitted it was a "very tough thing" to accept as she began to feel alone in her relationship. She added: "So then in the end it was about, 'OK, I have the power to do what I want to do'." Trinny rose to fame alongside Susannah Constantine in noughties fashion shows such as What Not to Wear where they used straight talking to try to improve people’s wardrobes.

Mega rich businessman Saatchi – whose 10-year marriage to Nigella Lawson ended in 2013 – got together with Trinny after his marriage to Nigella ended.. In March this year, it was reported Trinny felt it was "time to move on" after a happy decade with the art collector and advertising guru, who is reported to be worth around £100 million.

A source told the Sun: "Their age difference started to become an issue. Charles wants to slow down. He prefers quiet evenings at home while Trinny feels the opposite. She feels she’s in her prime and wants to be out and about." Trinny sparked speculation that she and her long-term lover had called it a day with a series of cyrptic social media posts. The former What Not To Wear host posted: "It’s a new day, it’s a new dawn, it’s a new life." She went on to say: "I have been moving but now I have moved."

She posted from her French ski chalet: "I have looked out at this view for the last 30 years of my life," she mused before adding: "It’s the one consistent view I have ever had. Recently with the big life change and moving house it was important for me to come back here with (daughter) Lyla and family just to have that moment. Listen to the birds, be at one with nature. Very healing."

Trinny's husband Johnny Elichaoff died by suicide in 2014 after battling an addiction to painkillers for 20 years. The pair had divorced in 2009. The fashion expert and Charles started dating ten years ago after his first wife Kay Hartenstein reportedly created a short list of women who he might want to date. In 2021, Trinny said that she had ‘grown up a lot’ in the relationship.

She shared: "I don’t let myself get away with stuff, so if I have a kind of outrage he’ll go: 'Really, are you kidding?' And then I’ll go upstairs and think: 'OK, let me grow up now.' I think that’s what happens when you are with somebody who has been through a lot in their life, and there is nobody who is more supportive of my business and jobs in terms of being my champion."
