Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha admitted she "can't talk about it" as the panel discussed coping with grief.

Nadia was joined by host Kaye Adams as well as panellists Dame Kelly Holmes, and Katie Piper. The ITV broadcasters were debating whether the first anniversary after losing a loved one is the hardest. After hearing her co-stars discuss grief surrounding the first anniversary of a death, Nadia began to open up and share a recent tragedy in her life.

“I lost somebody,” Nadia began, before pausing as she began to choke up. Looking over at Kaye, the former EastEnders star's voice started to beak as she said: “Actually do you know what I can’t talk about it.”

Kaye replied: “You know what, that’s fine,” as Katie Piper began to rub Nadia’s shoulder in a bid to comfort her. Nadia continued: “Just for anybody that might be going through something in the first year, I felt nothing on the anniversary of the first year. I tell you why, because we have this amazing capacity as humans to produce shock absorbers. And my shock kept up there for years. So I hadn’t landed. So if you've lost somebody and you’re coming up to the first year anniversary, and you’re not feeling anything, please don’t hate yourself.”

Elsewhere on Thursday's show, Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe joined the studio to discuss his relationship with his mother and his memoir Jojo: Finally Home.

He said: ”It’s only recently that I've made peace with what has happened in the past because I had an opportunity to hear my mum's side of the story. As I was reading the book, I sat down and interviewed her and asked her questions to say, 'why did you make that decision? Why did you stay that long in that marriage that didn't serve you?'”

The Strictly Come Dancing star was asked if it was hard to speak to his mother in that way and he replied: ”It was. I dedicated the book to my mother because I wanted to applaud her love...” Johannes was forced to stop as his eyes filled with tears.

He later became emotional for a second time as he reflected on celebrating his life milestones without his family by his side. “I'm so sorry. It's emotional because great things happen in my life, but my family's never around to enjoy it with me.”
