Gavin and Stacey star Russell Tovey has split from his former fiancée after nearly seven years together, according to inside sources.

The 41-year-old was in a relationship with from Steve Brockman from 2016, and apart from a brief hiatus in 2019, they have been relatively solid since. It's believed they have now broken up, however, after eagle-eyed fans spotted Russell's unfollowing of the retired adult film entertainer on Instagram earlier this week. Steve, 39, has also unfollowed the Being Human actor, sparking rumours that the VIP couple have called it quits on their longterm romance.

On Monday, Russell shared a sentimental photo of him and his dog Rocky enjoying a sunset in Margate with his 763k followers on social media. "This is all for you, my son," Essex native captioned the idyllic snap.

With Steve nowhere to be seen in the beachy shot, it appears the personal trainer and rugby coach may no longer be on the scene. The concerned tone from the followers from Russell, who is best known for playing 'Budgie' on Gavin and Stacey, also suggested something may be wrong in paradise.

"That’s all you’ll ever need," one person wrote, while another said, "Aw man, hope you're okay." Others simply commented on the beauty of the photo, hailing the sunset as "amazing" and "stunning."

Speaking about his reconciliation with Steve back in 2020, Russell compared their relationship to a popular board game.

"Well, I don't know how it works. Because we were, then we broke up, now we're back together," Russell told the Telegraph. “Is it like Snakes and Ladders? Do you go back to the beginning of the game and have to work your way back up again?”

Russell, who described his sex life as "very, very, very vanilla" in the past, has also previously revealed he'd "absolutely" like to have kids. In 2019, he told the Guardian that he was willing to try different options to achieve his goal of becoming a father.

“Surrogacy, adoption, all those things are up for grabs,” he explained, “and, you know, conversations with friends." Russell also confessed to feeling pressure to start a family before his 40th birthday, but became less stringent about the subject the closer he got to the age. “But, probably because I’m about to be 40 I’m letting myself off the hook with that one.”

“Having kids is something that is becoming fundamentally important to me,” he continued. “I remember being at school, junior school, and already wanting to be a dad.”
