Britney Spears is said to be counting down the remaining days of her child support payments to her ex, Kevin Federline. Some checks will end in a few weeks once the oldest of her sons, Sean Preston Federline, turns 18.

A source close to Britney said that she's "tired of paying" money to Kevin and would rather given the support directly to her children. She has been estranged with both of them for more than a year. Adding to the emotional distance between Britney and her kids, Kevin added some physical distance, too. He moved their family to Hawaii with his wife, making it difficult for Britney to attempt to see them.

The source told the DailyMail "it's time for Kevin to get a job". They explained: "Britney is relieved that Sean is turning 18 on September 14 because she is tired of paying Kevin the insane amount of money he is getting."

While the child support requirement for Sean drop this month, she'll still be shelling out money to Kevin for another year, just not as much. Her other son, Jayden Federline, won't be turning 18 until September 14, 2024.

Their current agreement is under California law as that's where their separation and custody battle went down. When Kevin made the big move to Hawaii, it opened the door to a potential loophole to extend the time frame for child support checks. After all, in Hawaii, the period that child support is required can be prolonged if the kid enrols in a college or vocational program.

Luckily for Britney, a revised in 2016 closed this loophole. It confirmed that child support agreements in one stay don't change if someone moves to another. The state that made the initial ruling still has jurisdiction over the agreement.

Kevin isn't the only one of Britney's exes with the potential to get some money out of her. Her recent split and the subsequent divorce from Sam Asghari had the potential to cause a financial burden to Britney. However, Sam had previously confirmed on social media that he and Britney signed a prenup before their marriage.

Plus, reports said that he "gets no pay out in the event of divorce", with the prenup reportedly preventing him from "spousal support".
