Ten Hag to hold showdown talks with Sancho amid ongoing Man Utd feud

Erik ten Hag will hold showdown talks with Jadon Sancho after their feud burst out in public on Sunday.
Ten Hag had blasted the Manchester United winger for his poor performances in training, following the Red Devils' 3-1 defeat to Arsenal. But Sancho hit back at the Dutchman, branding him a liar and insisting he was being made a "scapegoat" by the United boss.
The Dutchman looks set to attempt to bring their spat to an end though, despite Sancho having failed to impress since his big-money arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. He has made only three substitute appearances so far this term, with Antony and Alejandro Garnacho preferred over him.
According to the Daily Mail, Ten Hag will hold 'clear the air' talks with Sancho to discuss his omission from the squad that lost to the Gunners. It is said that Sancho's camp believe he has not been given a fair run in the starting line-up.
That view has been dismissed by those at United though, with Ten Hag adamant that Sancho can raise his levels on the pitch. According to ESPN, Ten Hag is standing firmly behind his comments about the winger's work ethic.

The United boss was informed of Sancho's fiery response to his comments during the journey back to Manchester on Sunday evening. He has opted against issuing any clarification to his comments as he believes he was clear on his reasoning.

Ten Hag is also adamant that Sancho was not deserving of a place in Sunday's squad due to his training performances. In a sign that the club are firmly behind their manager, United are also said to be considering taking disciplinary action against Sancho.
After the game, Ten Hag made it clear that decision was due to the winger's training. He said: "Jadon, on his performance in training, was not selected. You have to reach a level at Manchester United every day and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected."
Sancho hit back at those accusations though and responded to Ten Hag with a statement on social media. In it, the winger said: "Please don't believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue.
"I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won't go into, I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair! All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team.
"I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!"
